Reverend Nat’s Holy Water(melon) Cider Cocktail Night at Box Social
I am huge fan of Reverend Nat’s Holy Water(melon) Cider. The very first time I took a sip of it, I loved it and I immediately thought to myself — ” if you gave this cider to a talented bartender, I bet that they could come up with some amazing cocktails.”
Two years ago while enjoying a glass of Reverend Nat’s Holy Water(melon) Cider I decided that someday I would do that very thing and create an event where I could enjoy those cocktails.
Thursday evening September 22nd from 7 PM – 11 PM my watermelon cider cocktail event idea is coming into fruition!
I am also a huge of Box Social. Box Social is one of my favorite bars in Portland. I love a good Old Fashioned and Michael, the bartender at Box Social makes one of the best Old Fashioneds that I have ever had.
Thursday evening September 22nd from 7 PM – 11 PM you are welcome to join me at Box Social for Reverend Nat’s Holy Water(melon) Cider Cocktail Night.
Michael at Box Social has come up with three amazing cocktails that each feature Reverend Nat’s Holy Water(melon) Cider — Drunken Love, Napoleon’s Last Stand, and Sir Basil’s Hot Monkey.
Please note — This is a cocktail event at a cocktail bar. Reverend Nat’s Cider Holy Water(melon) Cider NOT be poured at this event, instead it will used as an ingredient in each of these three cocktails that were specially created for this fun evening.
Drunken Love Cocktail
This cocktail features Reverend Nat’s Holy Water(melon) Cider, Mezcal and St. Germain.
This cocktail gets it name from the Beyonce song Drunk In Love which references “drinking watermelon.”
Napoleon’s Last Stand Cocktail
This cocktail features Reverend Nat’s Holy Water(melon) Cider, Aperol, Gin, and muddled Hermiston Watermelon.
This cocktail is a fun riff on the Waterloo Cocktail found on the Box Social summer cocktail menu which features muddled Hermiston watermelon and has Campari instead of Aperol.
Sir Basil’s Hot Monkey Cocktail
This cocktail features Reverend Nat’s Holy Water(melon) Cider, Vodka, New Deal Hot Monkey Pepper-Flavored Vodka, and muddled Basil.
This cocktail gets it name from the splash of New Deal Hot Monkey Pepper-Flavored Vodka and the muddled basil.
Snacks
Box Social has an excellent food menu. We selected one item that we think will go particularly well with each of the three cocktails mentioned above.
The Baked Brie will pair well with the Sir Basil’s Hot Monkey Cocktail.
The Caprese will pair well with the Drunken Love Cocktail.
The Nibble Plate will pair well with the Napoleon’s Last Stand Cocktail.
If you love either Reverend Nat’s Holy Water(melon) Cider or craft cocktails, you do not want to miss this fun event!
Cheers,
Steven Shomler
