Saturday Jan 3rd, I was delighted to read about the opening of a Brick and Mortar version of a favorite Food Cart, Hungry Heart PDX on Steven Shomler’s Facebook feed.
I first became a fan after trying their cupcakes at a Sunday Parkways event. Remembering the delightfully tasty treats we had sampled before, it was evident that an immediate visit was in order.
Since the new store just happens to be located in Montavilla (one of our favorite neighborhoods) it didn’t take much to convince Bill that it was time for dessert.
The cupcakes were every bit as delicious as I expected, but the surprise taste treat of the evening was the Double Chocolate Salted Caramel Cookie. Richly decadent, it melted in my mouth and left me wanting another. In my world, that is the best compliment you can give! I look forward to visiting again for coffee and morning pastries.
